THE EFFECT OF INVESTMENT KNOWLEDGE AND SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT ON THE INVESTMENT INTENTION (Study on Undergraduate Students of the Faculty of Economics and Business)

This study aims to determine the effect of investment knowledge and social environment on investment interest of undergraduate students of the Faculty of Economics and Business. This research is motivated by the importance of having knowledge about investment before deciding to invest. Students of the Faculty of Economics and Business were chosen as the population and sample of the study because they have gained investment knowledge through investment support courses and are in an environment where there are investors. The research data were obtained from 116 respondents who were collected using a questionnaire. This research uses multiple linear regression analysis method with SPSS tool. The results of this study indicate that investment knowledge and social environment have a significant influence on the investment interest of undergraduate students of the Faculty of Economics and Business. This research is expected to be used by educational institutions and related parties to pay attention to investment knowledge and the social environment of students to increase investment interest.
